Vanilla Frosting

This is a vanilla frosting.  You may use this frosting to cover practically any cake.  Personally, I don’t like frosting that much because I don’t like too much sweets.  However, this frosting is delicious and not too sweet.

For this recipe I used butter only.  You may use ½ cup of butter and ½ cup of shortening.  If you like it to have a lemon flavor, you may add the zest of one lemon to the batter after you have fished mixing all the ingredients together.

4 cups of powder sugar (confectioners sugar)
1 cup of butter or ( ½ cup butter and ½ cup shortening.)
1 teaspoon vanilla
3 tbs of milk
Zest of one lemon

In an electric mixer, beat butter until light and fully.  Gradually add the sugar, one cup at a time.  Turn off mixer, and scrape the sides.  Continue beating until all is well mixed.

Add the vanilla and the milk and beat again for one minute.

If the frosting is dry add another tablespoon of milk, if it is too thin add a little bit more of confectioners sugar.

This is an original work.  If you've just read this post somewhere other than http://yolandascakesenglish.blogspot.com, it has been plagiarized.
